CR Keshavan, National Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday condemned Kothur Manjunath, Karnataka congress MLA for his reported remarks questioning the authenticity of Operation Sindoor, calling an attempt to âdefame, discredit and deplorably attack' the Indian armed forces.
CR Keshavan said, "Many statements of Congress leaders reflect their anti-armed forces mindset. Through his obnoxious and foul-mouthed statement, Congress MLA Manjunath tried to defame, discredit and deplorably attack the armed forces. He has the audacity to question the authenticity and the legitimacy of Operation Sindoor. His deplorable comments are not just unpatriotic, they are anti-national.But what better do you expect from Congress?"
Keshavan also called Manjunath's remark âunpatriotic' and âanti-national', reported by ANI. Further targeting Congress, Kesavan said that they have a âhistory of mocking the armed forces.'
"Do you expect the Congress party to condemn Manjunath? No, because they have a history of mocking the armed forces. How the Congress Party has failed to stand by the nation and our armed forces will never be forgotten nor forgiven," he said.

The ongoing controversy has been triggered by recent remarks from Congress MLA Kothur Manjunath, who questioned the effectiveness of Operation Sindoor, implying that the military operation did not produce the intended results.
Operation Sindoor was initiated by India on May 7 as a response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including a citizen of Nepal. As part of the operation, Indian forces conducted precise airstrikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), reportedly eliminating close to 100 militant operatives stationed at key locations.
Among the significant targets hit were Bahawalpur, known to be the headquarters of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Muridke, a major training center for Lashkar-e-Taiba.
In retaliation, Pakistan launched cross-border shelling along the Line of Control and in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and also attempted drone incursions across border areas. India responded with a coordinated military offensive, striking 11 Pakistani airbases and inflicting damage on their radar systems, communication installations, and airfield infrastructure.
Subsequently, on May 10, both nations reached an understanding that led to the announcement of a cessation of hostilities.
