Forget the cynics; the fact-sheet says something else. The capital's bracing up for the Commonwealth Games like never before, and the milestones are many. UTV, in association with Public Diplomacy Division of Ministry of External Affairs, has documented the whole deal so far in a film called We Are Ready, with an aim to give a clear, concise picture of how far we've come. We spoke to Rahul Bhatia, Vice President, dubbing and North TV, UTV Television.

What made you come up with this idea?
The city's abuzz with so much because of the upcoming Games. So, we thought, why not show where India really stands. People think nothing's really happening; but the truth is, a lot is.

How does the film establish what's really going on?
It ropes in Tejendra Khanna, the Lt Governor, Suresh Kalmadi, chairman of the Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games, and shooter Abhinav Bindra, among others, to give a clear picture of what's going on. It also involves in-depth onsite exploration and behind the scenes stories told by workers and engineers themselves. People from all walks of life, including college students, bureaucrats and the common man, speak up on what it means to them.u00a0u00a0

Where was the lion's share of the film shot?
At different venues, from the Delhi Sports Complex to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to MGF sites and more.

How much time did the production take?
Seven-eight months. We were a small crew with a lot of energy and enthusiasm.

What was the most challenging part?
Getting all the right facts, figures and people.

Building inch by inch: A still from the Commonwealth Games site

But don't you think Commonwealth preparations have caused a lot of chaos around the city, especially in terms of the recent Metro mess?

I think we're missing the positive point. Look at the kind of development that has taken place: the revamped airport, the improved infrastructure, better maintained water and green bodies. There's been much enhancement.u00a0u00a0u00a0
