On Wednesday morning, over 100 schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats via email, prompting an inquiry that pointed to a Russian server as the potential source. Initial findings show that threats are sent to all schools using a single IP address.

The Delhi Police's Cyber team has joined the investigation into the Delhi school bomb scare, noting that the email address used had a Russian domain. However, confirmation of the email's origin remains awaiting. Even though VPN connections are commonly used to hide IP addresses, the police are tracking them down. Nonetheless, the Cyber team is confident about finding it and proposes the use of the Dark Web, reported ANI.

The ANI report stated that multiple Delhi Police teams are working on various elements of the inquiry, partnering with officials in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi.

Despite significant concern, the Directorate of Education, while commenting on Delhi school bomb scare, assured the public of the safety of students and staff, noting that no harmful devices had been discovered. "Today, few schools of Delhi got hoax bomb calls/ mails. Nothing adverse/ questionable was found anywhere by Delhi Police. All our students and teachers are safe. All are requested not to panic. To relieve the parents, students were allowed to leave if parents had reached school," Delhi Government's Directorate of Education said in a post on X, the AI report stated.

During ongoing investigations, senior Delhi Police officers met at the police headquarters. Suman Nalwa, the Delhi Police PRO, reaffirmed that no suspicious objects were identified during the search operations and urged parents not to fear, ANI report added.

"Several schools have approached us that they have received an email regarding a bomb in their campus. Delhi Police has conducted search operations but nothing untoward has been found so far...It seems someone has done this to create panic...I just want to request the parents to not get panicked. We are conducting an investigation regarding the same," the Delhi Police PRO said.

To allay fears, the Ministry of Home Affairs characterised the Delhi school bomb scare as 'hoaxes'. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Special Cell is examining the matter, but no suspicious findings have been recorded as of yet.

Delhi LG VK Saxena, who was touring one of the affected schools, ordered a detailed report from the Delhi Police Commissioner. He urged parents to cooperate and promised them that those guilty of the threats would face serious consequences.

"Spoke to the Police Commissioner and sought a detailed report into the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. Directed Delhi Police to carry out a thorough search in school premises, identify the culprits & ensure there are no lapses. I request the parents not to panic and cooperate with the administration in ensuring safety of schools and the children. The miscreants & culprits will not be spared."
