Good weather has increased sexual activity among Bangaloreans, say experts

A dip in the temperature has given Bangaloreans a chance to rejoice. The temperature is expected to drop even further.

A MiD DAY check revealed that the city people have found many ways to enjoy the weather.

"The weather is playing the perfect host to stay home in bed along with your partner," said gynaecologist and counsellor Dr Padmini Prasad.

Owing to the lovely weather, couples want to cosy up in bed rather than going to work.

"The decrease in outside temperature leads to an increase in the body temperature. This results in increased sexual activity as the days get cooler."

Echoing the same, gynecologist Dr Richa Sharma said, 'The ideal weather along with the hormonal changes that take place in both men and women leads to an increase in sexual activity."

The ones benefitting the most from this are the city medical stores that boast of a significant rise in the sales of related paraphernalia.

As the winter months are approaching, the sales of condoms have increased tremendously.

"Last week, the number of condom packs sold was 110, compared to the week before when we sold just 60," said Syed Asadulla, owner of Arogya Medicals.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that similar weather conditions will continue for at least a month or two, owing to the South-East Monsoon that is active over Karnataka, said Puttanna from the Meteorological Department.

Residents of the city seem to be in a fix, with many of them wanting to stay under blankets and cuddle up with their loved ones.

"The perfect weather just makes me want to stay indoors, but, I'm unable to take time-off from work," said a working professional.

However, when we enquired with offices if their employees were regular at work, Mohandas Pai, chief of human resources at Infosys, said, "The attendance has been normal despite the temperature going down."

Seems like Bangaloreans know how to work smart and play hard.

Weather effects
The dipping temperature has seen the city enjoying a hot cuppa coffee and hot chocolate. Managers of coffee shops say that over this week, the sale of hot drinks has gone up considerably. However, local pubs claim that there is no change in the sales of drinks.
