Speed brats racing on empty streets knocked each other down; eyewitnesses claim both riders were under the influence of alcohol
Two friends Chetan and Abhishek, who had gone for dinner together, landed up in Bowring Hospital after their bikes hit one another at Cubbon Road around 12.15 am.
According to the police, Chetan and Abhishek had gone to the Imperial Hotel for dinner.
While returning home one of them hit the other from behind. Chetan was riding a Yamaha and Abhishek was on a Pulsar.

The police said that both of them were riding the bikes at a very high speed at the time of the accident and both the vehicles have been damaged badly.
InjuredA traffic police official, who took the two of them to the Bowring hospital for treatment, said, "Abhishek has got more injuries than Chetan.
He has received a cut behind his ear and has injuries on his face, hands, as well as legs. Chetan has suffered minor injuries and is safe."
Immediately after the accident, their friends and family members were informed.
Before the parents could arrive, Chetan and Abhishek's friends reached the hospital to attend them. Abhishek's friends alleged that the two were drunk and driving.
Chetan was treated at the Bowring Hospital and Abhishek was sent to NIMHANS as he suffered serious injuries.
The Shivajinagar traffic police said, "Abhishek who was badly injured was taken to NIMHANS hospital as he had head injuries but again he was brought back to Bowring Hospital where he has been admitted now.
They have not lodged any complaint so far as both are friends and have gone for a compromise."
