MiD DAY discovers women doing the gifting this Valentine's are thinking of sexy, quirky ways to be different

How quirky can you get for your love? Flowers, cards, chocolates, candlelight dinner are passe and done to death. Bangaloreans, you've done it before.

Do it again, but a little differently. Take your spouse to such an extent that he just goes bonkers about you.

Women take charge

Men have done it till now. They've written letters in blood or climbed mountains. It's now the turn of this generation's girl gang to take charge of their love life.

So here goes. MiD DAY spoke to a few people in love who got their thinking caps on, took the offbeat path to make their Valentine's

Day exciting.

"Tangible things are boring and easily forgotten. Today, everything is about an experience. Understand the passions of your partner and do something accordingly," says Priya Sanghvi Rayirath.

"I thought about what my partner would cherish. And since he loves taking long showers, I bought him a sexy-looking bathtub.

I plan to spend half of the day in the tub with him with aromatic candles, rose petals and wine. He was trying to surprise me with his gift.

But, women always have an instinct and I got to know what's coming my way. It's over a 100 varieties of the most exotic aroma therapeutic oils."

Off the roses track

Another girl who didn't take the routine roses is Mansi Chouhan. She wanted to make it special, "After much thinking I finally decided to gift my partner a customised pen with his initials engraved on it.

He's always on business trips and ends up exchanging pens or losing them.

So I thought why not pick a silver Sheaffer Roller Ball, which cost only Rs 2,200 and got a complimentary silver prelude ballpoint worth Rs 1,700 for myself.

I just got his initials engraved at an additional cost of Rs 150 from the William Penn store in Koramangala and there it was. Something different! Now he can think of me even during his business meetings."

Gift of beautiful you

And when it comes to gifting, why not gift yourself a gift of beauty.

Probably gifting someone a package to look young and beautiful by using a Botox treatment might sound a signal saying, "Gal, I do love you, but you better do something about those wrinkles." But, it's the age of looking good and lovers are going to any extent now to please their loved ones.

The Botox treatments being offered as V-day packages at many clinics in the city are for those on the move.

They are quick and some take only 10 minutes and you can say goodbye to wrinkles on your forehead with as little as Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500.

u00a0One of the Botox clinics on Lavelle Road is giving away chocolates for every walk-in client on the day, besides teddy bears as surprise gifts. Dr Chaitra Anand says, "Many couples are signing up for quick Botox treatments.

It's probably the season when everyone wants to look their best."
