All that you ever wanted to know about indie and electronica at Soundbound, a three-day music convention with panels and workshops conducted by Indian and international music professionalsAnyone linked to the Indian music industry, right from artists to sound and light professionals, will have a lot to take away from the three-day music convention co-organised by The British Council, the Goethe Institut Max Mueller Bhavan India and Only Much Louder.
The convention will feature a range of workshops based on various aspects of music including publishing, production, stage performance and technology. International and Indian music experts will also conduct panels on topics such as government funding to support the industry and artist management besides others.
"The ongoing problem with booking Indian artists is that there is no established European touring route in India. This means that, many of the British and European decision makers in the music industry do not go out to India to hear the music on offer and forge relationships with Indian agents and musicians. With events like SoundBound, further opportunities for Indian and foreign artists to develop performance tours, partnerships and exchanges are bound to happen," says Fiona Stewart, an international panelist at SoundBound and managing director, Green Man Festival, an annual independent music fest held at Wales, which included artists such as Flaming Lips and Doves in their line-up this year.
