In a surprising scenario, a man has been convicted for the rape of a 5-year-old girl in just 26 days by UP's Jaunpur district court. As reported, the verdict came within 26 days of the crime, which happened for the first time in the state. The man who was accused of raping a 5-year-old girl has been punished with 25 years of imprisonment by the district court in Jaunpur. Moreover, he has also been fined Rs 50,000.
Addressing the situation, Jaunpur Superintendent of Police stated that Jai Prakash Yadav took into consideration the investigation of this heinous crime. Adding to his heroics, Jaunpur SP also mentioned that Yadav submitted the chargesheet after completing the investigation in just 24 hours to the Jaunpur district court.
The Jaunpur SP said the fast submission of the charge sheet and rapid action on all the official procedures were done under the 'Operation Conviction' mission, which aims to fast-track the procedure for POCSO matters.
Continuous effective advocacy by the monitoring cell and prosecution resulted in the swift judgement by the Additional Sessions Judge (POCSO), Jaunpur. The Jaunpur court convicted the accused for 25 years of imprisonment and has been fined Rs. 50,000 under 65(2) BNS and 5M/6 POCSO Act.
According to reports, the details of the case are as follows: At Jafarabad police station, case number 81/2025 under 65(2) BNS and 5M/6 POCSO Act was registered against the accused, Khurshid Alam alias Mohammad Hamza, resident of Syed Alipur, Jafarabad, Jaunpur district.
