Kolkata RJ allegedly raped by bizman's son

A famed radio jockey (RJ) working with a city FM channel was allegedly raped at a party hosted by an industrialist's son.

The incident happened in May and a formal police complaint was lodged on June 10. "The victim in her complaint alleged that she was raped by a person who happens to be the son of an industrialist. The alleged offender is also suspected to be involved in drug peddling," said Joint CP (Crime) PK Ghosh.

The incident came to light following media reports alleging police inaction in the case.

According to police, the RJ and the alleged offender were known to each other before the incident. The alleged rape took place when the victim consumed intoxicants and lost her consciousness at the party.
