Man accidentally kills self with friend's revolver

Vadodara: A 28-year-old man today shot himself dead apparently after accidentally pulling the trigger of a revolver belonging to his police officer friend.

The deceased, identified as Ashok Ramchandra Taili, along with his wife had yesterday come from Ahmedabad to visit his friend, probationary police sub-inspector P N Singh, at the latter's residence in Karjan, about 40 kms from here, police inspector G Gabhani said.

While his friend had gone for a bath after keeping his uniform and revolver ready outside the bathroom, Taili picked up the weapon and accidentally pulled the revolver's trigger and shot himself dead, the officer said.

Hearing the gun shot, the family members rushed to the spot.

They took the body to SSG hospital in Vadodara for postmortem.

Police are conducting an investigation into the case to ascertain whether it was an accident or a suicide, the police official said.
