Manipur CM condemns killing of Naga hostages

The Manipur government will not remain a mute spectator to atrocities, Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh said on Thursday, after police found the mortal remains of six Naga men, who had been held hostage by armed groups.

"Culprits responsible for the murder will be arrested and punished as per law," Singh said. Nagaland CM also strongly condemned the killing, describing it as a "horrific and inhuman" act and demanded an immediate action against those responsible.

In another violent incident on Thursday, suspected militants killed two persons in a village in Kamjong district and also burned several houses, police said.
