WHO cannot forget the character of Murli Prasad Sharma alias Munnabhai in the movie Munnabhai MBBS? Everybody who watched the movie were charmed by the don with a golden heart.

Thus, inspired with the idea, Manya Sajjana (Manya from Sajjanpur), a Marathi film is being made where the lead character, a gangster doubles up as an English professor.

Noted actor Makarand Anaspure is playing the role of Manya, central character in the film, who is an underworld don with a noble soul.

Produced by Vikas Patil and Bhaskar Jadhav, the film has been directed by debutant director Milind Lele and has a star cast that has some of the known faces of Marathi cinema. The film has been shot in the IIM College campus at Wakad.

Vikas Patil, said, "As Pune is the educational hub of the state, we got a better mood and locations here." He added that the major part of Munnabhai MBBS was also shot in the city at the Mahatma Phule College in Shivajinagar.u00a0

According to Lele, the film is a family entertainer has the witticism like Golmal and Naram Garam of veteran filmmaker Hrishikesh Mukherjee. "Our education system has become commercialised now and thus, it has lost its objective," Lele remarked.u00a0

Abhiram Bhadkamkar, the story writer of the film, said, "This film will have a strong impact on the audience as it suggests some new ideas about how to make learning pleasurable."
