Mumbai: 35-year-old man booked for 'sodomising' school students

Two children, aged 10 and 12, from a school in Santacruz were sodomised by a 35-year-old man, recently at Vile Parle. The Santacruz police have registered a case against the accused, Balkrishna Pawar, alias Bapu, who would visit the housing society where the children reside, on the pretext of washing cars, and, sodomise the boys. Bapu, who is absconding, has been booked under section 377 and 506 of IPC and POCSO Act.

According to the police, the boys who study in Std V and Std VI in the same school, stay in a housing society in Vile Parle East. The incident came to light on Friday when their school teacher noticed some bloodstains on one of the boy's pants. When she probed, the boys narrated the entire incident to her. The teacher informed their parents, who in turn told the Santacruz police. Preliminary medical examination of the boys corroborated their version of the story. The accused had sexually assaulted them several times and had also threatened to kill them if they raised an alarm. The case has been handed over to Vile Parle police station, as the incident occurred in their jurisdiction.
