Mungaru Male Hangover

Film: Manasare (Kannada)

Star Cast: Diganth, Aindritha Ray and Raju Talikote

Director: Yogaraj Bhat

Theatres: Sagar,Prasanna, PVR and Fun

Rating: 2

Having raised audience expectations with his earlier films, director Yogaraj Bhat has failed to fulfill them with his latest offering. It's as if he is yet to come out of his Mungaru Male phase and in this one too the dialogue, rather than the subject, takes over the script. The first half manages to be quite interesting but is let down by the bland second half.u00c2u00a0u00c2u00a0

What it's about: Manohar (Diganth) is something ofu00c2u00a0 a lazy fellow, is always trying to impress people with some venture or the other, but never once succeeding. Under strange circumstances, he ends up in a center for the mentally unsound.u00c2u00a0 At first, he tries to escape from there, but a chance encounter with one of the patients, Devika (Aindritha Ray), changes things. He falls in love with her, and deicde to stay back. Will the decision cost Manohar his own sanity? This is the question pursued by the drama that follows.

What's hot: Comedian Raju Talikote impresses the audience with his native dialogues and Aindritha too has done justice to her role. Mano Murthy's music is melodious, though only in one song.

What's not: Diganth's acting has no originality as he has copied Ganesh's style, which only helps to remind the viewer of Mungaru Male.

Verdict: Watch it, if only for the comedy scenes
