National flag hoisted upside down in Coimbatore collectorate

Visitors to the collectorate in the morning were surprised to see the tri-colour flying upside down and brought it to the notice of some officials.

As the media persons started taking photographs, a staff in the revenue department brought down the flag and hoisted it again properly, an official said.

The issue had been taken to the notice of District Collector M Karunagaran. Inquiries revealed that the person, who hoisted the flag wrongly, had been transferred to the Collectorate only a couple of days ago and was not familiar with the exercise, the official said.u00a0
