February 12, 3.45 pm at German Bakery: I was sitting near the entrance with an acquaintance when a bag brushed against me. I looked up to see this man in his early 20s dressed in black shirt and black trousers with a black-and-beige duffel bag. He apologised profusely in broken English and explained that he was carrying the bag because he had been travelling. He was 5-ft-5-inches tall, dark complexioned, clean-shaven and built on the heavier side. He looked quite out of place at the German Bakery. He sat at the table next to mine. I noticed that he was waiting for the waiter. This is quite unusual because at the German Bakery you walk up to the counter to place your order. It appeared as if he was there for the first time.

He kept his bag three tables away, which made me a little suspicious. In the 15 minutes I was there, he kept looking around as if scanning the place. I left before he did.
Feb 12, 7 pm at German Bakery: I went back to German Bakery to have my regular glass of juice.
Feb 12, 7.20 pm, opposite Hotel O: I was getting my cycle, which was parked in a lane opposite the hotel when the same man came up behind me and asked me directions to a guesthouse. I could barely understand him. I thought he was trying to make small talk because I was a foreign national. A few seconds later, I checked if he was following me. He had disappeared by then.
