Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Hyderabad on May 10, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth approximately Rs 9,400 crore before addressing a major Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) public rally in the city.

According to the Prime Minister's tentative schedule, PM Modi will arrive in Hyderabad from Bengaluru and attend an official programme at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Gachibowli. During the event, he is expected to virtually inaugurate and launch several infrastructure, industrial and railway projects aimed at boosting connectivity and economic growth in Telangana.

First Telangana Rally After 2024 Re-Election

The Hyderabad visit will mark Modi's first public rally in Telangana since returning to office following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The visit also comes shortly after the BJP registered major victories in the West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections earlier this month.

The BJP leadership sees Telangana as one of the key states where the party aims to strengthen its political position ahead of future elections. Senior BJP leaders in the state believe Modi's visit could provide fresh momentum to the party's expansion efforts in Telangana.

Speaking about the visit, Telangana BJP chief spokesperson N V Subhash said the party is confident the Prime Minister's programme will energise party workers and attract strong public support.

Road, Railway And Industrial Projects To Be Unveiled

The projects scheduled for inauguration and foundation stone laying include major road, railway and industrial infrastructure initiatives.

Among the key projects is the four-laning of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, which is expected to improve regional connectivity and facilitate faster transportation between Telangana and neighbouring states.

The Prime Minister is also expected to lay the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area, a project aimed at boosting industrial development and employment generation in the region.

In the railway sector, PM Modi will inaugurate multiple sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking project, which is expected to improve rail capacity and operational efficiency.

Other projects include the inauguration of a Greenfield Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) Terminal in Hyderabad and the launch of the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, part of the Centre's initiative to strengthen India's textile manufacturing ecosystem.

BJP Expects Massive Crowd At Parade Grounds Rally

Following the official programme, the Prime Minister will address a large public rally at Parade Grounds in Hyderabad.

The Telangana BJP has made extensive preparations for the event, with party leaders expecting a turnout of nearly two lakh people. Party workers have been mobilised across districts to ensure maximum participation in the rally.

In the lead-up to the visit, the BJP has also launched a statewide wall-writing campaign to promote the rally and invite people to attend the event.

Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao, participated in the campaign activities.

BJP Highlights ‘Double Engine Government' Narrative

Addressing a bike rally ahead of PM Modi's visit, Bandi Sanjay Kumar said the Centre has been allocating substantial funds for Telangana's development and infrastructure growth.

He asserted that Telangana would witness faster development if the state had a "double engine government," a term often used by the BJP to describe governance by the same party at both the Centre and the state level.

The Prime Minister's visit is expected to focus on development initiatives, infrastructure expansion and the BJP's political strategy to strengthen its presence in Telangana ahead of future electoral contests.
