Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on the occasion of his birthday and wished him a long and healthy life.

Vijay, who assumed the charge of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, turned 52 on Monday.

"Birthday greetings to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay Ji.

I pray for his long and healthy life," Modi said in a post on ''X''.

The birthday marks Vijay's first as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu since taking charge of the state's administration earlier this year.

Known for his successful career in the film industry before entering active politics, Vijay has emerged as a prominent political figure in the state.

Supporters of the chief minister celebrated the occasion across Tamil Nadu, with party members organising various events and extending their wishes through social media.

Several political leaders also conveyed their greetings to Vijay on his birthday.

Vijay's rise from cinema to politics has attracted significant public attention, and his assumption of the chief minister's office marked a major development in Tamil Nadu's political landscape.
