On January 8, after a MiD DAY report on how the security agency, NISA has not disclosed data on armed guards, the NGO Swabhimaan Sanghtana's women's wing came out in protest against the agency

The Mumbai Police has acknowledged that NISA - that claims to be a "top class agency in India" has kept critical information undisclosed.

On January 8, MiD DAY carried a report titled, ‘RTI reveals top security firm has not disclosed data on armed guards'. The company's website lists TATA, Reliance, Samsung, Godrej and Big Bazaar among its clients. But the firm, which has 45,000 guards on its payroll, has failed to inform the Mumbai police about basic yet crucial details about how many of its personnel carry firearms.

Yogesh Holkar, a member of Swabhimaan Sanghatana, which is run by Nitesh Narayan Rane, uncovered these facts through a Right to Information (RTI) plea.
Swabhimaan Sanghatana women's wing head Kavita Lad led the protest outside NISA's corporate office in Andheri. They shouted slogans condemning the agency. Finally, NISA's office was shut down.

"I am out of Mumbai and am not aware about protest. I am sure that firm has probably provided the details to the police," said Andrew Rodrigues, general manager, NISA.u00a0
