A 25-year-old software engineer from Bangalore leaped to his death from the eighth floor of Bhondve Tower in Moshi, on Wednesday around 9.30 am. The techie left behind a suicide note in his pocket, in which he blamed no one for his death.

The deceased has been identified as Kanishk Putti, who had moved to the city in July this year, and was staying with his grandmother at Rahul Apartments in Sector 4 in Moshi. He used to work as a software engineer in a private firm at Pimpri.

Nirmal Patel, a resident of Bhondve Tower, was the first to arrive at the scene and found Kanishk lying unconscious. He immediately informed the police about the incident. Police have recorded the statements of his grandmother and friends, who stated that he had not shown any signs of depression or stress that could have induced him to take this extreme step.

Kanishk's grandmother, K Lilavati, told the police that Kanishk had left the house on Wednesday morning around 9 am to buy milk. After that, he went to the nearby tower and jumped from the eighth floor.

Police Sub-Inspector Haridas Bhosare, investigating officer from MIDC Bhosari police station, said, "Kanishk left behind a suicide note in his pocket, in which he had mentioned his Bangalore-based uncle's mobile number as his parents are no more. He has not held anybody responsible for his death. Hence, the motive behind his suicide is not yet clear."

"We are recording the statements of his relatives and friends. The exact reason behind the suicide will emerge only after the statements are recorded," Bhosare added.
