It might be a bit unfair to term the Capital's roads unsafe for women. Men are not having a good time on them either.

In an apparent case of road rage, a young house loan agent was stabbed to death by four unidentified men in full public glare in northwest Delhi on Monday following an altercation over a collision between their cars.
"The victim was passing by the Keshavpuram bus depot at around noon when the incident occurred," said a police official.

The deceased has been identified as Hemant Gupta (32) who works as a loan agent with HDFC bank. Gupta was on his way to office from his Vikaspuri residence when the mishap happened.

A car hit his four-wheeler from behind near a drain in Keshavpuram and an argument broke out between him and four passengers of the other vehicle.

As the exchange of words got heated, the official quoting an eyewitnesses said, one of the four men stabbed him on his hand and chest. None of the onlookers intervened, he said.

The victim was taken to the nearby Sehgal Nursing Home where he succumbed to his injuries. Police received the registration number of the vehicle and are in the process of identifying the culprits and the car involved in the incident. A case of murder has been lodged at Vikaspuri police station.

Death penalty for infant's killer

A Delhi court on Monday awarded death penalty to a man for stabbing to death a four-year old daughter of his colleague after raping her in 2005, saying the offence was "brutal and gruesome".
Sending convict Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Lakadpur in Faridabad, to the gallows is the only deterrent punishment which could be awarded in the case, the court said.
The court rejected the plea of convict that a lenient sentence be awarded to him on the ground that he was 26 years of age and a first-time offender.
The accused, who used to work as a barber with the father of the victim at a saloon in Okhla Industrial Area, went to the house of the girl and demanded Rs 1,500 from her mother for purchasing a refrigerator on June 12, 2005.
After the mother of the victim refused to pay the money, the accused took the girl away on the pretext of getting her some chocolates. A report was lodged at the police station after she did not come back which led to the arrest of an accused who got recovered the naked and mutilated body of the victim from a tank in the area.
