The wall of Children's Park was badly damaged due to the impact of the collision. The incident was reported to the police at around 3:30am. The official said that the occupants of the car were identified as Angad Singh (23) and Sherry Singh (28), both natives of Faridabad, Haryana.

What were they thinking?
The two were on their way to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib when they met with the accident. Delhi police arrested Angad, who was behind the wheel, for rash driving, but later released him on bail. The official said that it was a Porsche Carrera S, worth approximately Rs 1.5 crore, which was being driven by Angad. "They were passing through Zakir Hussain Marg when Angad took a sudden turn and lost control of the vehicle. The car hit the boundary wall of Children's Park before coming to a halt," said the police.

Safety gadgets help
The official said that the car may have somersaulted and fallen on the road. He said that the safety balloon burst at the right time or it could have turned into a grisly incident. "The car was taken to Tilak Marg police station while its occupants were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment. They were discharged soon," the official added.

Earlier incident
In an incident reported last year in June, a young woman was killed when a speeding Mercedes sports car rammed into the taxi she was travelling in, at south Delhi's RK Puram area. The son of industrialist and former BSP Lok Sabha candidate Kanwar Singh Tanwar, Dinesh, was arrested in the case for causing death due to rash and negligent driving. Dinesh had initially told the police he was in the passenger seat and his driver was at the wheels. Eyewitnesses, however, said that a man and a woman were in the car.
