"Jan Lok Pal Lagoo Karo, Jantantrik Andolan ka daman band karo,: they chanted slogans inside the Mavalankar Auditorium taking the audience and the organisers completely by surprise.
Manhandling
They were, however, evicted by the organisers as Sibal stood at the podium silently. Sandeepan, AISA-Jamia unit, said, "We went in to question Sibal's address on the arrest of Anna and his supporters. We were badly pushed away by the workers and thrown out of the venue. Some girls with us were manhandled by them. If this is how they behave with the citizens, there is no point of their being a part of civil society, let alone the government."
Ravi Rai, General-Secretary, AISA said, "We had recently held a 100-hour barricade at Parliament, in which we raised the question of corporate looting of natural resources as well as attacks on democracy. Today it was one such attack; the government must give its reasons to the masses for cracking down on peaceful protestors, while the mafia and crime gangs make merry."
Candle-light march
JNU students took to candlelight march in the evening throughout the campus. Vismay Bose, AISA-JNU said, "The corrupt Congress government cannot have its way by banning peaceful and democratic protests. We will go on protesting till the time they don't accept the wrongs done by them."u00a0u00a0
