Former Miss India Nafisa Ali is planning to install CCTV cameras inside her new boutique in Lodhi Colony area of south Delhi. A little too late, one would have to say. Five persons including three girls allegedly made off with costly clothes from her shop.

Speaking to this reporter, Nafisa said that she opened her boutique with the name 'APPNA' in April this year.
"I was not at the shop when this happened.

First of all, a couple had come on the pretext of purchasing some clothes, but they did not buy anything and left the shop. After some time they returned with another fellow. They asked my employee to show them the fresh arrivals. They then left the place. A little later, the employee noticed that a few clothes were missing," she said.

Nafisa said that she got an FIR registered with Lodhi Colony Police Station on Friday. Cops said they are looking into the matter. "We know a few culprits who steal clothes from shops with a similar modus operandi. We hope to crack the case soon," said the official.

The Other Side

Nafisa Ali has accomplishments in several fields.
' She was the national swimming champion from 1972-1974. She won the Miss India title in 1976 and was runner-up at the Miss International contest in 1977. Ali was also a jockey at the Calcutta Gymkhana in 1979.
' She has acted in several Bollywood films, notably Junoon (1979) with Shashi Kapoor and Major Saab with Amitabh Bachchan (1998). She has also acted in a Malayalam film called Big B (2007) with Mammootty.
' She is associated with Action India, an organisation working to spread AIDS awareness.
' Nafisa Ali contested the 2004 Lok Sabha elections unsuccessfully from South Kolkata. In September 2005, she was appointed the chairperson of the Children's Film Society of India (CFSI).
' On 5 April 2009, it was declared that she will contest the Lok Sabha elections Lucknow on a Samajwadi Party ticket. instead of Sanjay Dutt who was barred by the Supreme Court on the basis of his conviction. She rejoined Congress party in November 2009.
