Suspects allegedly procured fake documents to purchase prepaid SIM cards

Two suspects arrested in the JM Road serial bomb blasts case were charged yesterday with forgery for allegedly procuring and submitting fake documents to purchase prepaid SIM cards which were used to hatch the conspiracy.

Earlier, officials of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had arrested the mobile shop owner and his accomplice a few months ago for selling the SIM cards on forged documents. The ATS team produced Feroze Syed (38) and Irfan Landage (30) in the Shivajinagar Court yesterday and the duo was remanded in ATS custody till February 20.

In November 2012, the ATS had arrested Ganpat Garg (42), owner of Narsimha and Hari Om Sales at Dighi, and his employee Iqbal Khan (31), for allegedly selling SIM cards to people after forging documents of those who had previously purchased SIM cards from him.u00a0
