Delhi CM Rekha Gupta arrives for the meeting
In March, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta had unveiled a comprehensive plan worth Rs 1,500-crore to clean the Yamuna river and upgrade Delhi’s sewage infrastructure as part of a major river rejuvenation effort
The plan includes building 40 decentralised sewage treatment plants (STPs), modernising existing ones, and investing in advanced equipment to manage waste and pollution
Moreover to prevent untreated sewage from entering the Yamuna, the Delhi government plans to construct 40 decentralized sewage treatment plants (STPs) at a cost of Rs 500 crore
These plants will treat wastewater at its source before it reaches major drains, helping to reduce pollution in the river
