Banerjee spoke about the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor during TMC's annual Martyrs' Day rally in Kolkata. Accusing the Central government of being controlled by US President Donald Trump, she said, "You follow his orders"

Banerjee's remarks came following a recent claim by the US President that he had influenced India to agree to a ceasefire with Pakistan by threatening to halt trade

Moreover, Mamata Banerjee mocked BJP leaders' attempts to appeal to Bengali voters, saying, "You come to Bengal, speak Bengali from a teleprompter, and expect to win our hearts? You couldn't even reclaim PoK, yet you dream of Bengal"

Meanwhile, in a symbolic gesture, CM Mamata Banerjee brought families of the recent Pahalgam terror attack victims, including Bitan Adhikari's parents and Jhantu Ali Sheikh's relatives, onto the stage. She honoured them with traditional stoles and announced RS 1 lakh financial aid for each family

The Chief Minister also asserted that the aid for the families came from Rs 1 contributions from every TMC worker, showing the party's "emotional solidarity" with those who had lost loved ones
