Born on September 17, 1950, in a small town in Gujarat, PM Narendra Modi hails from the Other Backward Class (OBC) community, one of India’s socially and economically marginalised groups

PM Narendra Modi began his public life with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a nationalist organisation focused on nation-building, before transitioning into politics through the Bharatiya Janata Party at both state and national levels

Beyond politics, Narendra Modi enjoys writing. He has authored several books, including poetry. PM Modi begins his day with Yoga, which strengthens his body and mind and instils the power of calmness in an otherwise fast-paced routine

He is known as India’s most techno-savvy leader, using the web to reach people and bring about change in their lives. He is very active on social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud, LinkedIn, and other forums

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced several major reforms aimed at accelerating India’s development, such as the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' that was initiated on October 2, 2014. The initiative turned it into a nationwide movement to promote cleanliness across the country

His initiatives span across economic growth, infrastructure, digital transformation, and social welfare, reflecting a vision of a more self-reliant and modern India

On 8 November 2016, the Government of India announced the demonetisation of all Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 banknotes

Modi’s emphasis on financial inclusion through schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, and reforms like GST and demonetisation highlights his focus on formalising the economy and reducing corruption

His government continues to push forward with policies that aim to position India as a key global player in the 21st century
