PM Modi stood in solemn silence at the Hall of Remembrance, reflecting on the lives lost in one of history’s darkest chapters

As the Kaddish prayer was recited, both the PMs bowed their heads in tribute to the six million Jews murdered during World War 2

Established in 1953, Yad Vashem was created to preserve the memory of Holocaust victims and ensure that their stories are never forgotten

The memorial complex includes the Holocaust History Museum, the Hall of Names and children’s memorial which documents the systematic persecution, personal histories of victims and suffering endured under Nazi rule

Yad Vashem also honours the “Righteous Among the Nations,” non Jews who risked their lives to save Jews carrying forward a message of courage, remembrance, and hope for peace.
