According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city experienced a generally cloudy sky accompanied by multiple spells of rain and thundershowers throughout the day

Heavy rainfall, coupled with thunderstorms and lightning, added to the severity of the weather conditions, prompting local authorities to stay on alert

A yellow alert signifies the need for residents to remain cautious, especially in vulnerable areas prone to flooding or lightning strikes

The alert also urges civic agencies to be prepared for emergency response and to ensure drainage systems are functional to prevent further accumulation of water. In areas near the riverbanks, several houses and temples have reported water entry, forcing people to either evacuate temporarily or shift to higher ground

With more rainfall predicted in the coming days, residents are being urged to follow advisories and remain indoors unless absolutely necessary
