Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, CEO of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, stated, "A large crowd of devotees has gathered at the temple since morning. Flowers are being showered on the worshippers"

The ancient Kartikeya Mahadev Temple in Sambhal, which reopened earlier this year after almost 46 years, also drew a large number of devotees

Meanwhile, some kanwariyas were seen carrying photos of Anuj Chaudhary, the Circle Officer of Chandausi in Sambhal, referring to him as their 'inspiration'

The officer has gained attention due to controversial statements and actions during last year's violence in Sambhal and also during the month of Ramzan

Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal confirmed that "special surveillance," using CCTV cameras and drones, is in place to maintain law and order
