Police sources said around 200 protesters attempting to reach Jantar Mantar were detained on Friday. Drones were deployed to monitor the movement of people trying to reach the protest site. YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was also detained at his residence in Gurugram’s Sector 56, according to police sources

In a separate preventive measure, police sources said more than 600 people with criminal records had been detained across the national capital’s 15 districts ahead of the proposed protest. The action was aimed at preventing potential law-and-order issues, the sources added
Security checks were intensified at the Singhu Border on the Delhi-Haryana border, while police conducted intensive vehicle checks at the Tulsi Niketan border in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where heavy traffic congestion was reported
