Uttarakhand avalanche: 4 dead, 5 workers still missing, Rescue ops intensify

A devastating avalanche struck the Mana area in Uttarakhand`s Chamoli district, leaving several workers from the Border Roads Organization (BRO) trapped under the snow. The incident took place in a remote region, making rescue efforts challenging. There were 55 workers present at the site when the avalanche hit, and fortunately, 50 of them have been successfully rescued so far. However, the tragedy has claimed the lives of 4 workers, while 5 others are still missing, with search operations continuing around the clock. The missing workers are being searched for by teams of rescuers, who are working in harsh conditions to locate them. The injured workers are being airlifted to Joshimath Army Hospital for immediate medical treatment. Authorities have assured that they are making every effort to provide assistance to the survivors and locate the missing individuals. The rescue teams, including the Army, police, and BRO personnel, are working tirelessly despite the difficult weather and terrain.
