The men, identified as Tariq Bhat, Jalal Khan, Salim Khan and Abbas Khan, are related to the film industry.

According to the police, an unknown man was harassing Mirza since August this year, demanding Rs 50 lakh from him.

When Mirza didn't comply to the extortionist's demand, he was shot at on November 3. However, the calls and messages for extortion continued even after the shoot out.

"We were able to trace the phone numbers after a few attempts and finally got hold of the culprits," said Pravin Desai, Senior Police Inspector, Oshiwara Police station.

Meanwhile, Mirza was shocked that the arrested men were locals and his acquaintances. "I know each of them personally. I don't know why did they do this to me.

But I am happy that the guilty have been arrested. My family can now live without fear," rejoiced Mirza.
