Kamalkumar, owner, Kamalkumar Shankarlal Jewellers, said that a woman walked in the shop with a girl at 11.30 yesterday. The girl asked a salesperson to show her some earrings.

When the salesman turned to attend to other customers, the woman turned her back towards him, and covered the girl.

The girl stealthily slid her hand in the glass counter, snatched four gold bangles, and hid them in her clothes.

"Pretending that they didn't like the displayed ornaments, the duo left casually. It was only when we were packing up for the day, we realised that the bangles were missing.

Suspecting robbery, we replayed the CCTV footage and found that the girl had indeed stolen the bangles when the salesman was looking elsewhere," said Kamalkumar.

The Virar police have lodged a case of robbery against the two women and are looking for them.
