Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has now claimed that it was neither interested in the film 332 Mumbai to India nor asked for any changes to be made in the movie.

The film, which is supposed to be based on the Rahul Raj incident, had allegedly attracted the ire of MNS.

"We have screened the movie for MNS vice-president Vageesh Saraswat.

We even expressed our regret over the North Indian characters using 'Bambai' instead of Mumbai in the film," said Mahesh Pandey, the film's director. "The movie was released today and the response for the movie has been good," Pandey pointed out.

Saraswat said "I had seen the movie two days ago, but we told the makers of the movie not to tell the media about it, because we thought that all this was a publicity stunt."

But Shalini Thackeray, MNS cineworkers union president contradicted Saraswat and said, "We are not interested in the movie and the release of the movie does not make any difference to us.

Rajsaheb may not even be aware of the movie. We had not asked for the screening of the movie nor did we suggest any changes."

Party sources claimed that the moviemakers might have tried to gain publicity.

The movie is based on the incident, which took place two years ago. Rahul Raj, from Bihar, had boarded a bus near Kurla and tried to hijack the bus allegedly to carry out a revenge attack on Raj Thackeray.

Rahul Raj was shot dead by the police.
