The police investigation into the alleged molestation of students at Euro Kids Pre-school in Versova last month is set to begin soon.

The franchiser, Euro Kids International, sent a letter to the Versova police last week after the branch management and parents refused to do so fearing trauma for the kids because of a long-drawn case. The letter was sent on November 17.

The franchise has filed a police case against the teacher accused of molestation

A school committee has also been setup to conduct a parallel probe into the incident. Consisting of child psychologist Dr Anjali Chhabria and two high-ranking officials from Euro Kids International, the committee will submit its report within 60 days.

Towards this end, parents, whose kids got allegedly molested by the teacher, will meet the committee at Dr Chhabria's clinic on November 26.

The franchiser has also sent a letter to all parents about the steps being taken to avoid future mishaps by installing CCTV cameras and appointing an administrator to look at the school's day-to-day operations.

Amit Singh, national business manager, Euro Kids International, said, "The committee members will meet the aggrieved parents along with their children, the teachers and the centre head to record their statements, probe the matter and suggest remedial action. All the parents have been kept in the loop about the
development."

A parent, however, said, "The school keeps pointing only at the two aggrieved parents when the truth is that there are a few more who have confirmed that their children were also molested."
