Uddhav Thackeray, executive president of the Shiv Sena, along with son Aditya Thackeray met Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan at Sahyadri, the State Guest House in South Mumbai, on Saturday. Thackeray handed him a memorandum on the issue of recent showers having caused damage to crops. "We have asked the government to give Rs 10,000 per acre to every farmer who has lost his crop to the rains," said Thackeray. He also mentioned that he would be the first person to acknowledge and support his work if the CM would work for betterment of the state.

Thackeray greets Sharad Pawar just as he leaves the building
However, just as Thackeray was leaving Sahyadri, he bumped into Sharad Pawar, Union Agriculture Minister. Pawar called on the CM on an unscheduled meeting on Saturday, according to sources. Pawar is said to have telephoned the CM before visiting him.
