Sanjay Dutt has asked for police protection at his Pali Hill residence and also at his Santacruz office after allegedly receiving extortion threat from the underworld in 2005, said his lawyers.

According to Dutt's laywers,u00a0Bollywood producer Shakeel Nooraniu00a0used underworld connections to harass the actor.

The claims come a day after Bombay High Court attached Dutt's property for duping Noorani.

A heavy media presence was seen outside his residence and office after word got out that the Bollywood actor has asked for police cover.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday ordered the attachment of two properties belonging to Dutt, the house and his production house's office in Mayfair Melody at Santacruz over a financial row with producer Noorani.

Noorani's lawyer Ashok Saraogi said his client had, in 2002, paid Sanjay Dutt a signing amount of Rs 50 lakh for his film Jaan Ki Baazi, but Dutt failed to complete the shooting.

Noorani had claimed Rs 2.03 crore in damages from the actor.
