Vikram Bhatt's 'Haunted', touted as the first horror film in 3D format, has begun shooting in Ooty.

After Raaz, 1920 and Shaapith, which made up his horror trilogy, producer-director Bhatt wanted to take a step further in the same genre, but in 3D.

Bhatt, who was in Chennai to chalk out the visual effects plan for the film, confirmed he had begun shooting.
The story has been penned by Bhatt himself, and revolves around certain happenings in a house.

The shooting of Haunted in 3D format has begun in Ooty, where Bhatt had shot his thriller Raaz with Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea.

It uses the element of time travel; the story is set in the present but travels to the distant past.

The movie stars Mithun Chakraborty's son Mimoh and televison actress Twinkle Bajpai of Betiyaan fame. The cast and crew have been put up in Mithun's hotel in Ooty.

It will be familiar territory for Bhatt as he had shot his thriller Raaz with Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea at the same location.
