Magnificent Murali

Amol Muzumdar, Cricketer

I just can't get the brilliance of Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan off my mind.

The kind of performance he displayed in the Galle Test ufffd five wickets in an innings ufffd against India was just unbelievable.

He's a big occasion player and he underlined that yet again showing his class in his farewell Test. Only a cricketer like Murali could do it. We will never see a bowler like him again.

The wicket of Yuvraj Singh in India's second innings puts him two short of the 800-wicket mark. My gut tells me he will get there. I just hope he does, because he can then bow out in style.
