Student shot inside Maryland high school; suspect in custody

An active incident was reported at Thomas S Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland, on Monday afternoon, with a 16-year-old student being taken into custody.

Officers responded to the school at 2.15 pm, where they found a 16-year-old male student suffering from a single gunshot wound in a hallway.

He was moved to a hospital and is in stable condition. Investigators determined that there was no threat to public safety.
