Barack Obama's stepmother Kezia Obama was presented with a birthday cake by airline staff, as she left London for her step-son's inauguration as US President in Washington DC.

She was presented with the cake at Heathrow Airport in London before flying to Washington DC.

Before leaving from Heathrow, Kezia Obama, who now lives in Bracknell, Berkshire, said she was "so excited".

The grandmother, who was once married to Obama's late Kenyan-born father, said she was looking forward to the celebrations in Washington on Tuesday

Mrs Obama has also launched an online bingo game called Mrs Obama's Online Bingo in honour of her step-son Barack's inauguration.

She is helping launch the online Gala bingo game to raise u00a31 million for Sue Ryder Care, which helps people in the UK suffering from Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's and Multiple Sclerosis.

She is launching Mrs Obama's Online Bingo as the US President-Elect prepares for his inauguration in Washington, DC, on Tuesday.
