"The Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) has received an allegation of sexual exploitation against two military personnel serving with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo," Farhan Haq, the UN associate spokesman, told reporters Wednesday.

According to Xinhua, he said: "An investigation is currently being conducted. As due process must be respected, once the investigation process has concluded, we will be in a position to provide more information."

Haq did not reveal the identity of the accused serving in the 20, 000-strong UN force in the country.
