Baloch insurgents kill 9 Punjabis in Balochistan; 7 die in separate ravine accident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Nine Punjabi passengers were shot dead by Baloch insurgents after ID checks in Balochistan’s Zhob district. The banned Balochistan Liberation Front claimed responsibility. In a separate incident, seven people died and two were injured after a vehicle fell into a ravine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district.

Baloch insurgents shot and killed nine passengers from Punjab after checking their ID cards and offloading them from two passenger buses in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province, authorities said on Friday.

The incident took place late on Thursday on the national highway in the Sur-Dakai area of Zhob district, said Zhob Assistant Commissioner Naveed Alam. The Balochistan Liberation Front - a banned outfit known for attacking the security forces - claimed responsibility.

Seven killed as vehicle falls into ravine

At least seven people were killed and two injured after a vehicle plunged into a ravine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan on Friday. Rescue teams rushed to the accident site in the Gandhal area of the Kurram district of the province and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
