Google to begin shutting down Google Assistant from September four

Google will begin shutting down its Google Assistant service from September 4, as the company moves users towards Gemini as its next-generation assistant experience.

The shutdown will begin from that date, but Google said the change "may take a few weeks". The shutdown will affect users across Android and Wear OS devices.

It will also impact headphones that rely on the phone's Google Assistant functionality and vehicles running Android Auto, where it was primarily powered through connected phones.

It will continue to function on certain platforms, like cars equipped with Google built-in will get support.
