India and Seychelles on Sunday unveiled 19 outcomes following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Patrick Herminie, expanding cooperation in areas ranging from defence and maritime security to digital payments, space, healthcare, agriculture, and education.

Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to further strengthening its long-standing development partnership with Seychelles while expanding bilateral cooperation across strategic, economic and high-technology sectors. The PM also announced India's Special Economic Package (SEP) worth USD 175 million.

Modi said India envisions an Indian Ocean where maritime security is ensured alongside economic prosperity and where partnership is not based on size, but on mutual respect and trust.

President Herminie said maritime security in the Indian Ocean region remained central to bilateral ties, with the two countries reaffirming their commitment to counter piracy, drug trafficking, illegal fishing and cross-border crime.

Modi was also conferred with the honorary "Guardian of the Blue Horizon'' title by Seychelles for his steadfast commitment to environmental conservation and advancing the aspirations of the Small Island Developing States.
