Iran rejects Trump’s claims on talks, says negotiations depend on Tehran’s conditions

A senior Iranian security official dismissed US President Donald Trump's recent claims about potential diplomatic talks, stating that Tehran will not negotiate until specific Iranian conditions are met.

In a post on Truth Social on Monday, Trump asserted that Iran was eager to secure a deal "quickly and badly." He added that Washington would decide whether or not to engage with Tehran, though he noted the US remained open to the concept.

Responding on X on Tuesday, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warned against being distracted by mixed signals from the US leadership.

Rezaei said the broader strategic landscape surrounding regional oil markets and critical straits has fundamentally shifted.

He asserted that damage control would not alter the trajectory of events, reiterating that no bilateral talks will be held unless Iran's terms are fully satisfied.
