Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles at Ukraine's capital Kyiv in the early hours on Thursday, killing at least 20 people.
Thousands of residents rushed to bomb shelters and underground metro stations amid the attack that caused the widest destruction in Kyiv so far this year.
City officials said that more than 90 people, including children, were wounded and that some people were still trapped inside damaged residential buildings. Russia fired 74 missiles, 24 of them ballistic, and 496 drones in the attack.
Ukrainian forces struck one of Russia's largest oil refineries overnight in the Nizhny Novgorod region east of Moscow, and a rail bridge over Siverskyi Donets River in Russian-occupied Luhansk.
