Testing a liquid biopsy called PANXEON to detects pancreatic cancer before it’s too late

Researchers are testing a liquid biopsy called PANXEON to detect pancreatic cancer before it spreads. Developed by City of Hope scientists, the experimental blood test uses AI to analyse three distinct biomarkers - circulating microRNAs, exosomal microRNAs, and the CA19-9 protein.

In clinical trials, PANXEON correctly identified 87 per cent of early-stage pancreatic cancers and caught precancerous conditions 64 per cent of the time, enabling earlier intervention.
